Decorated Notebooks

I find it hard to believe that it was over a week ago now that I was spending a fun filled day in Telford with the lovely Stampin' Super Stars and lots of our other Stampin' Up! friends.  I have shown you some of the treats that I made for the Super Stars who were there and today I am going to share one more thing I made for them all

I knew the day was going to be packed with information we would all want to remember so I decorated a notebook for each of them.  Inspired by the front of the Spring and Summer Catalogue I chose plain brown notebooks and then went to work adding some papers from the Epic Day Designer Series Collection, a Tea Lace Doily and as you have probably have guessed some Butterflies!

I also stamped a sentiment from the Feel Goods Stamp Set - I hope the Super Stars find it as motivational as I do.

Not all the Super Stars are female so I made an alternative version as well

Patterned Party Note Card Set

Today I am going to share a Birthday Note Card Set that we made at yesterday's Patterned Party Card Making Class.

The set comprises of a collection of Note Cards in a pack and a matching greetings card.  As well as being able to send the cards yourself this set would make a lovely gift.

Scrapbook Saturday - From Small Beginnings

How do you feel about Scrapbooking?  Is it something you love the idea of but you are not quite sure how or where to start?  I have not been scrapbooking all that long and I remember vividly how big and intimidating a sheet of 12x12 seemed and how I was not at all sure how I could ever fill it or make it enhance my photos to tell my stories.  Well for this week's Scrapbook Saturday I am going to share not one but two ways you can get going with Scrapbooking quickly and easily!

Firstly you can start a 12x12 album and fill it with Divided Page Protectors.  These fab page protectors are divided into sections and have slots for your photos or your mini works of art.  

All I have done for these two pages is added the photos and made some patterned paper panels.

The second easy way to get into Scrapbooking is with a This and That Journal / Smash Book.  The pages of these beautiful books are already decorated and all you have to do is add photos, words and as many or few embellishments as you like.  Here is a scrapbook style page from my book.

Find Out About Friday - Meet the This and That Everyday Inspiration Team

You may have spotted that I am in love with my This and That Journal.  Long before I conquered my fear of 12x12 scrapbooking (yes I admit it - I was intimidated by the seemingly vast expanse of this larger size of paper) I kept journals that were mostly writing but had photos and other things just stuck in it.  These were usually plain notebooks and since I started Scrapbooking they became even more plain as I concentrated on just words.  My This and That Journal /Smash Book is an exciting chance to combine the two.  It is also a great place to get started.  The options you have for your This and That Journal are endless and that in itself can be a little intimidating and that is where This and That Everyday comes in.

This and That Everyday is a web site with daily hints, tips and inspiration on getting the most from your This and That Journal / Smash Book.  I am very excited to share that this inspiration will not come from me alone and to be able to introduce you to the other members of the This and That Inspiration Team.

Each of these ladies comes from a very different background and has something unique to bring to the team. So lets meet them

Clare lives with her partner and their two adorable cat's Pickle and Bramble. She loves F1, reading and trying new things. Clare says 'How lucky am I to get to play with This and That Journals?  Obviously for anyone who likes to play with pretty paper and shiny things it’s a real treat.  The bit that really has me excited though is the applications I can see for using them in my work.  Self-development, goal setting etc can appear very dry and like a lot of hard work at time so being able to take on a project that will be great fun and at the same time deliver a lot of learning will be so much more appealing.'

Dawn Thompson

Hi!  i'm Dawn and I have been scrap booking for 13 years. I love taking pictures of many different things. I also love to read and you'll find I've got my kindle or a book very close to me. I am really excited about my This and That journal and cannot wait to get started. I have decided to title my journal This & That so it will hold lots of different days of my life.

Not that you would believe it from her photo but Dawn is married with two grown up children.

Heike Neukirch

My name is Heike and I live with my husband and our dog Sally at the East Coast of Scotland. We have 2 children and as the second one starts University in September and the empty-nest-syndrome is kicking in.  I felt quite honoured that Bekka wants me to be part of her This and That Everyday Inspiration Team and to share my ideas for this special kind of diary.  As I love cooking and baking as well as crafting  I have decided that this will be the theme of my journal.

Hello, My Name is Bekka

Today I am going to share the name badge I made for the Stampin' Up! UK Regional Training last weekend.  With over 300 people and so much excitement I am not sure if they were to help others know who we were or to help us remember!

I used papers from the This and That Epic Day collection and added a splash of Elegant Eggplant so that my badge would coordinate not only with my This and That Epic Day This and That Journal but also with the shirt I wore that day ... please don't judge me for it!  

Stampin' Up! asked us to make something that represented our crafting style so of course for me there had to be some butterflies and a little bit of sparkle

This and That Card

Today I am going to share a card featuring the lovely This and That Epic Day Papers.  These papers are beautiful and I am sure I am going to end up using a lot of them!

At Saturday's Stampin' Up! Regional Training one of my lovely team was asked to give a presentation - I am so proud of her and wanted to share some words of encouragement.  The Feel Goods Stamp Set had the perfect sentiment an this sheet of paper has lots of inspiring words on it as well as being beautiful for a card like this!

She was absolutely great - well done Cal!

Team Gifts for the Stampin' Super Stars who attended the Stampin' Up! Regional Training in Telford

What an amazing weekend we had in Telford at the Stampin' Up! Regional Training.  I shared a little about it yesterday when I showed you some of the on the go pages from my Telford This and That Journal.  It was wonderful to share the experience with over 25 of my team and it gave me the perfect excuse to spoil those that were there a little!

One of the things that I am really proud of is how friendly and supportive everyone in the team is of each other. Some of the people who joined us in Telford had not met each other face to face before and there were some people who I met in person for the first time too.  We may all have chatted on the team Facebook Page or on the phone but I wanted to make it easy for us to recognise each other and that was the thought behind this team gift.

Each team member got one of these Boutique Boxes decorated with a butterfly which co-ordinated with the Butterfly Mint Gifts I showed you on Sunday.  I used the message Inspire for these butterflies as that is what this wonderful group are to me - an inspiration.

Inside was a shiney Star Broach - Our team are called the Stampin' Super Stars.

I loved spending so much time with the guys and girls who were there.   On Friday night those who were staying over went for a meal.  We laughed, giggled and enjoyed each other's company with funny stories being told some of which I am not going to forget in a hurry!

On the Saturday night after the training those who were staying over decided to get together again and we all did some crafting.  Everyone prepared a little project for each other to make and I for one loved their creations!  We took over a corner of the bar at the hotel and even met some new crafters ...

This and That in Telford - Travel and Special Event Journal / Smash Book

Wow what an amazing, action packed weekend I have had!  I spent it with some of my favorite people, my Stampin' Up! Team (the Stampin' Super Stars)  and friends at the Stampin' Up! Regional Training in Telford.  I love these events when we all get together and always come home with loads of lovely memories and a head buzzing with ideas!

I decided that it would be great to capture these in one place and my This and That Journal is an ideal place to do that. Today I thought I would show you some of my progress so far.  

Here is the cover - I kept it very basic as this was going to be slung into my handbag and passed around a lot.  Now I am back home I will probably add some more to it - there is plenty of room!  So far I have literally just rubbed two Ink Pads (Pool Party and Crumb Cake) over the chipboard to colour it and give a lovely mottled effect.  I ran some Washi Tape along the inner edge.  Then I stamped the letters of Telford on some of the This and That DSP and cut them out and stuck them on.   

I wanted this book to be more than just about me - The people I meet and see at these events are a huge part of what makes them so special so I wanted to capture that too.  So I took a Poloroid Camera with me and as I took people's photos I got them to write in the book and add their photo - where they wrote was totally up to them.  Here are just a few of the pages I have ended up with.

There are lots of these guest book / autography book type pages dotted through the book and I will go back and add my stories between them.  I am looking forward to doing so as there are so  many fun things I want to remember, a fun meal out with the team, our time crafting together and much much more.

Butterfly Mints - a Little Gift for Friends

Those of you who follow my Feeling Crafty Facebook Page will know that recently my craft table has resembled a butterfly manufacturing plant!  I shared a picture of lots of pots waiting to be assembled and then of the completed butterflies, but as yet have not shared the finished project.  The butterflies were part of a little gift I made for some of my lovely Stampin' Up! friends who I am spending the weekend with.

Scrapbook Saturday - The Mill at Night

For this week's Scrapbook Saturday I am going to share a page where the beautiful papers do all the talking!  I love to embellish my Scrapbook Pages but sometimes the beautiful papers are enough to make the page and let your photo and words shine through.
