Boo!

Goodness what a bad blogger I have been! I'm sorry.

Since it is Halloween this weekend I thought I would share a Halloween Card with you today - its similar to one we made at class last month.
The pumpkin is made from three Pumpkin Pie Ovals (well there was only really one colour I could choose for the job!). The edges were inked to give them more depth. The background swirl is from Baroque Motives and the greeting is from the Occasional Greetings Set. The colours used are Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Old Olive and of course Pumpkin Pie. Dont you just love the Pumpkin Pie Wide Striped Ribbon - it looks so scrummy and is a dream to work with!

A Rosy Sunday

Hello everyone

I hope you are having a great Sunday and appreciated the extra hour’s sleep as much as I did! I have been working backstage for a production for the last few nights and then there was the after show party last night ... but I digress!

Today is Sunday so its time for another Stamp With Us Challenge. This week it was time for a sketch challenge and I had a lot of fun using this sketch
So here is my card
I love Kraft card’s and wanted to create something with a soft feminine feel so I reached for the Rose Is A Rose Stamp Set. Here is was stamped with Bordering Blue and Not Quite Navy on Very Vanilla Card Stock. The leaves are Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke. The DSP is from Bella Bleu – I am adoring the papers in this set and it was soooooooooooo hard to actually cut into it!

I hope you decided to play along with this weeks challenge.

Party Butterflies

I love doing Stampin’ Up! Parties and even after a year or so doing them I still get a few butterflies in my tummy – mostly excitement rather than nerves but still butterflies! Today I am going to show you a card we made at a party I did yesterday with some wonderful ladies one of whom had asked if we could do something with the Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Set

The ladies are all experienced (and talented) crafters so I wanted to do something a little different with them so this is what we made.
As it turned out one of the guests, Louise, had been trying to find out how to make an Easel Card and it was a pleasure to be able to show her. She had struggled to find a sideways picture of one of these cards so in case you have been looking too here is the card from the side.
What I particularly like about these cards is that they also pack flat for posting.
We used Bashful Blue Card for our card bases and the images were stamped with Bashful Blue, Certain Celery and Perfect Plum. As well as the Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Set we also used Pocket Silhouettes. The inside of the card was lined with Perfect Plum Designer Series Papers. The card also used the new Butterfly, Word Window and Eyelet border punches which sped us along our way to creating the card. We also added some paper piercing details using the new Mat Pack and Pricking Tools.

Thank you ladies for a wonderful time

Time to Celebrate

Over the weekend a very special lady had a very special birthday – Marlene, one of my Stampin Superstars celebrated in style and I can now show you the card I made her to mark the occasion along with a bottle of bubbly.

I know Marlene loves this stamp set, Bloomin with Beauty, as much as I do so I could not resist using it for her big day. Here I have used bashful Blue, Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Mellow Moss and Old Olive.

I hope you had a wonderful time Marlene!

Marlene is special for a number of reasons – she is a very talented paper crafter, is lovely to spend time with and has fantastic sense of humour. I am honoured to have her has part of my Stampin’ Up! Team.

If you have been thinking about becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator now really is the time to join. The Stampin’ Up! I often get asked what you have to do as a demonstrator and the answer is easy – it is up to you! You could chose to run workshops and classes which are a fantastic way to generate income from your business , you could chose to just buy for yourself and a few friends and receive a product discount or you could chose a combination of both.

Bright Butterfly Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone!

Can you believe how quickly Sundays are coming around at the moment – is it just me or if the world speeding up?

Anyway since it really is Sunday that means its time for this week’s Stamp With Us Challenge. This week it is a recipe challenge. The recipe we were given was to create a project using the following ingredients

3 patterned papers, 3 brads, 3 coloured cards and 3 different stamps

My initial reaction was that this was a lot to fit on one card and for a while I found this challenge a hard one but then again it would not be a challenge if it was easy!

Anyway once I actually got going with it I really enjoyed it
The stamps I used were from the delicious new Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Set. I have been looking forward to inking this set up – the butterflies look great on their own or you can two step stamp them for some beautiful effects – I will show you those soon! The stamps also coordinate with the new Butterfly punch making it even more versatile. The colours I have used are Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise and Cameo Coral. I inked the edges of the stamped butterflies to give them a bit of extra dimension.

The patterned papers I have used are from the New Pink Flamingo Papers – they are a wonderful combination of bright colours and strong patterns. Just lovely. The brads are from the Rhinestone Circle Ice set.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s challenge and that you decided to play along over at Stamp With Us where you will also see that there is a new round of on line classes starting tonight – should be fun!

As well as having fun, celebrating the team’s achievements, celebrating a very special birthday and talking about our businesses we did some stamping. Well you cant put a group of us together and not have stamping now can you!

This is one of the cards we all made. Don’t you just love this Santa – he looks so happy. He is from the Holly Jolly Stamp Set. And as for this ribbon all I can say is it was well worth the wait – it ties like a dream and looks stunning.

Variations on a design

After Sunday’s Stamp with Us Challenge I promised you some adaptations of the design for Christmas so today that is what I am going to share with you.

The Bashful Blue Card uses the Snowburst Stamp Set – a firm favourite of mine from last Christmas since it is ideal for backgrounds or as the main image for the card. Imagine these snowflakes sprinkled with some of the new glitter – I may just have to go and play when I have finished updating here! The Chocolate Chip card uses the lovely new Circle Circus stamp set. This is a wonderful and versatile set too and I know you will see a lot more of it in the future. Here it has been stamped in Christmas Colours to give a subtle seasonal feel.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, back tomorrow with another Christmas Card

Stamp With Us Sunday

Hello everyone – remember me? I am sorry its been a while since I last posted but I hope normal service will be resumed shortly, with there being posts at least three times a week so please do keep checking back.

Today is Sunday and I have had a wonderful weekend so far, spending it with some fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. I will tell you all about it in another post, as now I want to share with you my Stamp with Us Card for this week. I say card but actually this week it is cards!

The challenge this week is one of my favourite types of challenges – a colour challenge. Here is the inspiration picture – how fun is this! I am a touch behind on my card making so decided to combine this challenge with a quick way of making multiple cards which I want to share with you now. With Christmas on the horizon many of us are thinking about bulk card production and this design can easily be adapted for Christmas Card production – over the next few posts I will show you how.
I started with a blank sheet of Whisper White Card Stock and then randomly stamped images from the new Animal Stories Stamp Set all over. To make it a bit more interesting I used two colours on each image, using the rock and roll technique – I love how this gives each animal a bit more depth. The colours I used are (take a deep breath!) Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Brocade Blue, Bordering Blue, Ballet Blue, Certain Celery, Garden Green and Close to Cocoa.
Next I cut the sheet into 8 equal strips (ie I cut it in A6 quarters and then cut each quarter in half to make two strips that would be the width of m finished card. I then cut similar sized strips from Certain Celery Card and punched a decorative edge into them with the new Eyelet Boarder Punch – I LOVE LOVE LOVE this punch and I think you may be seeing a lot more of it! I made sure I did not throw away the long off cut strip as it is one of the elements on the cards.

I used one of the stamps from Circle Circus as a background stamp on my card base (stamped with Not Quite Navy on Not Quite Navy) This set is so versatile I think you will see that quite often too!
The cards were then assembled, and the eight cards were done and I had only used 6 sheets of card.

I hope you like them. Dont forget to check out the rest of the design team's cards - they are fantastic as ever. I hope you also decide to have a go at this challenge yourself - its always great to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting
